AllowanceKit does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. Your family's financial information never leaves your devices.
AllowanceKit stores the information you enter — children's names, allowance amounts, bucket balances, and transaction history. This data is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework and synced to your personal iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit.
We do not operate any servers. We do not have access to your iCloud account. Your data flows exclusively between your devices and Apple's iCloud infrastructure, which is governed by Apple's own privacy policy.

This website (allowancekit.app) does not use cookies, analytics, tracking pixels, or any third-party services that process visitor data. Fonts are self-hosted — no requests are made to Google or any other external service when you visit this site. Your visit is not logged or tracked by us in any way. The only data processing that occurs is by your hosting provider (GitHub Pages / Netlify) as part of standard HTTP request serving, which is governed by their respective privacy policies.
No. We cannot share what we do not have. No data is shared with advertisers, data brokers, partners, or any other third party.
AllowanceKit syncs data across your devices using Apple's CloudKit private database. All data stays within your personal iCloud account. To set up a child's device, parents generate an invite code which locks that device to the child's read-only view. This process is managed entirely within the app using your iCloud account. We have no visibility into or control over your data.
AllowanceKit is designed for use by families with children. Because we collect no data whatsoever, there are no special considerations for children's data under COPPA, GDPR, or any other privacy regulation. The app does not require account creation, email addresses, or any personal information beyond what parents choose to enter locally.
Your data is protected by Apple's device encryption and iCloud security. Passcodes set within the app (parent PIN, child codes) are stored in the device's secure Keychain and are never transmitted.
If we ever change this policy, we will update this page and the "last updated" date above. Given that our approach is to collect no data, we do not anticipate significant changes.
